My mom and her cousin Jenny on the way to the Grand Canyon. It is on Navajo Indian reservation land.
Finally we get to the Grand Canyon! This is desert tower.
The view of the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon.
This is the path we took down into the Canyon. It's called Angel Bright. Native Americans used this trial for hundreds of years. It really freaked my mom out because the trial is about two feet wide and there is no railing. It drops right off into the Canyon!
Jenny, me and Xana. My mom kept yelling at Xana for being too close to the edge!
We only hiked about 1/4 of the way down the Canyon because it was pretty easy going down, but now we had to hike back up. It was not easy going back up!
It's an awesome view and a huge canyon!
On the way out of the Grand Canyon we saw a bunch of cars stopped by the side of the road. We decided to pull over and we saw a group of a dozen elk just standing by the side of the road.
They were very tame and just kept staring at us.
It was a long drive back to Phoenix on Tuesday. We stopped to eat at a Burger Kind and took a picture of this cactus with the pretty desert sunset behind it.
Would you hug a cactus??
The needles are long and sharp!
This sign was in the Burger King. We felt bad for the missing turtle, but we thought it was funny, because turtles are really slow so how could it run away?? Also, don't all turtles look the same? How could you tell from the picture?
